Obtaining Your Food
All people are welcome!
- Please bring at least two bags with you if possible.
- When you name is called you and your family members will enter the pantry and select from items on each table. ALL items are limited to allow us to serve all clients. Limits are generally one or two items per TABLE.
- Volunteers at each table will assist with selections as needed. They are not able to give out extra items, please do not ask.
- Once you have been served you may not return to the pantry to select other items.
- Occasionally, clients are asked to pickup food for a friend or neighbor who cannot attend the pantry. Please notify the registration volunteer and the pantry manager to get approval.
Expected Behavior
- We are a smoke-free facility. Per city policy, smoking and vaping is not allowed within 15 feet of doorways.
- Carol’s Kindness+ requests that all pantry clients behave appropriately and treat all volunteers and other pantry participants with respect and dignity. This includes:
- No swearing and foul language as we have children present.
- Asking for assistance politely. We are 100% volunteers and expect your courtesy and respect.
- If you treat volunteers rudely, argue with volunteers or engage in fighting, you will be removed.
- It is frequently crowded as you select items. You may be touched by another person. Pushing the other person or verbally attacking them is not acceptable and you will be removed.
- You may not bring alcohol, drugs or weapons of any kind into the food pantry as we are on city property.
- If you are removed from the food pantry more than once, the Gus Garcia Recreation Center site manager will be notified and you will no longer be allowed to visit the pantry.
What Kind of Food is Available?

We provide mostly donated food from local grocers, restaurants, and other food industry sources, as well as other food pantries. We also purchase shelf stable pantry items to supplement donated foods.

The donated foods are similar to those you would see on mark down at a grocery store. Some may be out of date.
