Austin is COLD, Gus Garcia is closed-Carol serves on the Drive

2 men in hoodies with wagon of food

Carol says My pantry at Gus Garcia may be canceled for today because the rec center is closed but people/camps that know my address are coming to my house to shop. Yesterday Austin Mutual Aid took 6 car loads in addition to 3 yesterday. 16 teams went out and fed approximately 1000 people. Sending more today. I can’t use the store donations, so I’m sending them where they can be used. This is what the universe is allowing us to do.

These 2 were taking food back to their camp. I called Jeff Larson, and he brought down coats and blankets . Others came with no coats and just a thin blanket around them. At that point they helped me move all the food I would have given out at our food pantry out to the tables in my driveway and let everyone partake.
(Our usual pantry place was closed as it was turned into a shelter and no outside activities were allowed.. that would be us)

Jeff also packed up fresh food into containers and brought it out to people in their camps. He has been sharing with others no matter how cold

We like to say that Carol’s Kindness is Oh So Kind. We hear this a lot.
Until next week we are putting the little truck to rest.
