HEB donation of $500 for Labor day hot dog dinner from our food pantry. Offerings were hot dogs, buns, chili, Ranch beans, pickles, chips, cokes, salad sides. Canteen adds diet coke and more chips.
What an exciting day! An email arrived letting Carol know that her application to HEB to donate funds $$ for an event had been approved for $500!
The application was made many months ago. We quickly figured out that an end of summer event would be doable and popular. Menu of Hot dogs, buns, chips, Ranch beans, condiments and drinks was quickly put together. Some of our other regular donors stepped up with extra chips, hot dog buns, drinks, and sides.
We shopped curbside and in the store to be able to serve 375+ people a picnic or BBQ for Labor day.
It takes over 40 volunteers weekly to make this pantry a success!
